This month's favourite : Konoha Bag by Ninemountains Design
I recently discovered Japanese designer Nahoko Masubuchi from Ninemountains Design. Her dreamy, delicate universe truly captivated me. Most of her creations are for children, but that doesn't matter — what counts is the inspiration.
So here’s a small project I’d love to share with you: the Konoha Bag. You can make it as a small crossbody bag or a handbag, simply by adjusting the yarn thickness. Nahoko offers three sizes: size S in fingering weight, M in DK, and L in bulky.
This pattern may not be ideal for absolute beginners, as it involves a few techniques like knitting in the round, decreases, yarn overs, and picking up stitches, magic loop… but if you’re feeling adventurous, go for it. Each technique is explained through a video tutorial — truly beginner-friendly.
For the version in the photo, I used a skein of COAST by Holstgarn. And perhaps a last piece of advice would be to use pointy needles because of the double decrease in the pattern.
Here is the link to the pattern, available on Ravelry or on Ninemountains Design’s personal website.
