Knit in Nature 1 – Lake Echternach
Sunday, May 24, 2025 · 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
1 guided walk with knitting breaks
1 project bag
Yarn for a small project
For this first Knit in Nature edition, we invite you to join us for a walk around Echternach Lake, with a few gentle climbs to enjoy the views from above.
The walk is moderate, approximately 6 km, with a steep hill to walk up.
The knitting project of the day will be provided in a carefully sewn pouch by Knit by Row. We will knit a small triangle bandana designed by Lucile Francomme —very light and perfect to wear around the neck as a soft protection from the summer sun.
This time, your choice of yarn will be guided by touch rather than color alone. You will be able to choose on site between two plant-based fibers: French linen or a fiber made from algae.
Please bring your preferred needles in 3.5 mm (regardless of your final yarn choice). A small selection of needles will also be available on site.
Practical notes
Meeting point at 10:00 AM by the Youth Hostel at the lake. There are multiple parking options close by.
Please bring your own picnic, as well as a cushion or something to sit on for extra comfort during our breaks on benches or stone steps.
The walk will take place in all weather conditions. Dress accordingly and wear sturdy walking shoes. Should the rain be too heavy, we will find shelter and continue knitting in the dry.
In any case, you will leave with your project bag and yarn, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
No cancellations possible after May 10.
Thank you,
Laure, Diane and Rowena
